This rare ancient Greek coin features the laurel crowned head of the Sybil Herophile of Gergis on one side and a female Sphinx sitting above and ear of wheat on the other. Coin has been lovingly reproduced in Yellow Bronze and embellished with details. Magical talisman comes on a gold filled wheat chain of 18”.

Herophile-

"Friend of Heroes." The daughter of Zeus by Lamia. It was said that she was the first woman to chant oracles, and that the name Sybil was given her by the Libyans. She foretold in her oracles that Helen would be brought up in Sparta to be the ruin of Asia and of Europe, and that for her sake the Greeks would capture Troy.

Original coin was minted in Gergis, Troas 400 B.C.
